The resident said the men forced their way into the house with guns, demanded money and one hit her in the head with a gun causing her to fall, according to court documents.
The victim said she and the child were held at gunpoint by one of the men while the other went to the back of the residence to search. The child was then able to run out to get help. When the second suspect joined in the backroom search, the woman said she too was able to flee.
Officers searching the area located the suspects and they were arrested. Keatrick Thomas, 19, and Lemond Chambers, 20 both from Middletown, are charged with aggravated burglary, two counts of kidnapping and felonious assault.
When arrested, one of the suspects had shed the clothing he allegedly was wearing during the incident and was running in the snow in socks, police said.
Thomas and Chambers were scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Middletown Municipal Court.
Residents in the area of Brookside, Eldora, Wilbraham, Winona, North Verity and the surrounding areas are asked to review home security footage and contact Middletown police with any video of the two suspects.
Any additional information or video footage can be sent to Detective Ken Mynhier at 513-425-7720 (office) 513-425-7700 (dispatch) or kenm@cityofmiddletown.org.
